High Performance Canister Filter
Fluval FX5's massive capacity and powerful integrated motor processes and recirulates 2,300 Litres of water every hour, enabling precise management of water condiions for aquariums as large as 1500 Litres!!

The FX5 draws in water and suspeded debris through its clog-proof intake strainer and sends it through a three-level foam pre-filter which traps most particulate matter. It proceeds to flow through multiple levels of custom media configurations to be processed and cleaned. As the powerful pump returns water to the aquarium, the flared design of the adjustable output nozzle disburses it in multiple directions, creating currents that help direct waste towards the intake for filtering. This intricate process results in a continuous flow of filtered water.

Smart-Pump Technology
Fluval FX5 Smart Pump Technology is the key to providing optimal filter performance. This self-primimg system offers plug-in-and-start convenience. Smart Pump employs an electronic circuit board to continually monitor the pump. Impeller speed and force are constantly measured to ensure powerful output and energy efficiency. Smart Pump Technology also manages the FX5 self-starting feature and evacuates air that may enter or build up within the filtration sysem. On a 24-hour cycle, the pump will pause and allow trapped air to escape, ensuring ultimate filtration efficiency at all times.

• Aqua-Stop Valves - unique click-fit technology allows for fast setup and leak-proof maintenance. Hosing can be separated from the filter in one step. The valves rotate and are 55 degree angles for easy positioning. They can be used to regulate water flow with no harm to the motor or its components.
• Multi-Functional Rim Connector - Innovative rim connector easily secures hosing in place.
• Clog-Free Strainer - Heavy duty anti-clogging strainer prevents buil-up of solids that could impede water flow. A particularly convenient feature for planted aquariums.
• Purge Valve - The valve drain allows for partial discharge of debris without needing to move the unit, open the filter lid or disconnect hosing, The canister is flushed out quickly and efficiently.
• Water Change Feature - No need to carry buckets of water. Just attach an appropriate hose to the output and the FX5 Smart Pump will do the rest!
